eHealth = eEntitlement

The 'head' of eHealth, Sarah Kramer gets paid hundreds of thousands of dollars per year. Her VPs get paid hundreds of thousands of dollars per year.

eHealth paid a consultant $7000 for speech writing services so Kramer could give an address at a conference.
They also paid a consultant $268,000 to come up with a communications plan and branding strategy.

There is also $168,000 paid for someone to help them lead 'organizational change'.

So what exactly do these executives do? Usually, executives get the big bucks because they know how to do this stuff already. If they can't figure this stuff out by themselves, I have to ask, what good are they?

To me, it sounds like another 'culture of entitlement'. I can foresee an expensive round of inquiries.

Perhaps these executives just aren't that smart if they need other people to do their thinking for them. Or maybe the consultants they hired needed a bailout and this was the best way for that to happen.

And what's with the branding strategy? If branding your organization as a money wasting joke in which the taxpayer pays millions and get nothing in return, then job well done. Pat yourself on the back. Like or not, that is now your brand.

Health Minister David Kaplan shouldn't have any trouble justifying this tremendous waste of money. He could easily explain that while these contracts were being worked, eHealth and the consultants went out for a lot of lunches together and contributed to the economy.

See? It's all good.
