Stephen Harper may not want his children to grow up in a socialist country, but he seems to be bent on making sure they (as well as mine) grow up in one that is bankrupt.

To be more correct you have to compare the defecit ratio to GDP in today's dollars.
Then have a look at the existing federal debt of about $480 BILLION and that we pay about 30% of total government revenues each year to service this past debt.
Then realize that in 3 years Harper paid down $33 BILLION on that prior debt.
Then think - say in 1980 $10,000 was a pretty good income and you could buy a fantastic house for $100,000 in "real" dollars.
Extrapolate those dollars to today and the $10,000 is similar to $40,000 - the $100,000 is more like $400,000.
So don't buy the deceptive opposition spin. They are comparing apples and oranges anticipating that we Canadians are too stupid to know the difference.
You cons put us in debt and now you want us to pay for it! The rich should pay so that we can have our national daycare so you can even raise the GST instead of making it go down.
Harper/Flaherty are not up to the challenge of fiscal manageent. These past 6 months have been a disaster. And these clowns don't know what is going on.
