Just a Question...

I applaud John Tory's committment to kill the hated health tax. But why must it be done over four years? During the next four years (assuming the PC Party wins a majority, and John Tory keeps his promises) the health tax will extract $6.4 Billion from the pockets of citiziens before it is fully phased out. If its that bad, as Tory claims, why not kill it right away?

I say if a tax can be implemented right away, it should be withdrawn right away!

And I don't buy McGuinty's argument that 'every penny of the health levy is needed'. Needed for what, march madness giveaways? The health tax raises about $2.6 Billion in additional revenue every year.

In case everyone missed it, the Ontario budget surplus this year was $2.6 Billion.

I guess. But how is this politically motivated?
